Stepping Out of the Comfort Zone

What a year 2020 has been! It seems like so many things have changed for so many of us – some changes for the good and some not so good.

But the thing about change is that even when it’s good, it’s not comfortable. It’s movement forward instead of standing still. Often it’s messy and makes us nervous. Even when it’s positive change, we can start to question whether it was the right choice, or whether we should have stayed with the known.

The familiar.

The comfortable.

But as I think we can all attest after this year – staying comfortably still gets old after awhile. No matter how comfy our couches, I think we’re all craving something new, something different.

I had the opportunity to fulfill a dream of mine this summer, training and getting certified in teaching meditation, expanding on my existing knowledge and experience with yoga and meditation. It was everything I’d hoped it would be and more.

I’m taking another leap of faith now, making some changes and putting more time into teaching, into offering group classes and private classes – and even recorded meditations. One positive change from COVID-19 has been the general acceptance of Zoom and other online platforms – you don’t have to be located in Wilmington, NC to join me for a meditation class, or a multi-week private meditation and mindfulness session, or a yoga class. You can join me from your home, wherever that is, and together we can work on relieving stress and cultivating a sense of inner calm and feeling grounded that can carry you through whatever else 2020 manages to throw at us.

And because it’s been a doozie of a year, right now, all classes are pay-what-you-can.

I know one thing – we’ll get through this, because we’ll do it together.

If you’re curious about meditation, check out one of the recorded meditations below! All meditations are being offered free of charge because, let’s face it, 2020 has been pretty rough. If you find them helpful and feel moved to make a donation, you can do so via Venmo or Paypal.
