The chakras are spheres of energy located at different areas up and down the spine, and are connected by channels through which energy runs. Each chakra is associated with certain aspects of health – in the physical body as well as areas of mental and spiritual health. When the chakras are not balanced and energy is not flowing freely between the chakras, it is thought to cause disease and dis-ease.
The concept of the chakras is thousands of years old, and the chakras are referenced in some religious texts from many years ago. Today, some people view the chakras very literally; others view the chakras as metaphors for organs and systems within our physical body and our mind. Regardless of your view of the chakras, this meditation can help you feel more connection and clarity within your body and mind, and help you find balance in your life.
